People Don't Hate Corruption; They Just Hate That It Isn't Their Turn To Eat

Maybe the uncomfortable truth is that corruption doesn't begin when someone steals millions. It begins when we decide that corruption is acceptable as long as we're the ones benefiting from it.

But here's the question: if someone who has been denied opportunities finally gets access to power and takes “their share,” are they a hypocrite or are they simply participating in a system they never created?

At what point does survival become complicity?

I get the survival part, but there has to be a point where we stop using the system as an excuse.

If everyone who gets access says “it is my turn” because others did it before them, then the system never changes.

You may not have created it, but you can still choose not to keep it going.

I don't know if you understand me.

I actually think this is a much more neutral framing cos you’re leaving room for both possibilities unlike some of the other statements under this thread/taking this stance.

And if you were finally given the opportunity to “eat,” would you really walk away? 👀🇳🇬
