<p>What really got me is that the comments didn't just hurt her feelings; they changed how she treated her own body. She stopped eating, started saving for surgery, and was basically trying to make herself smaller or “better” just to finally get some peace.</p><p>People really underestimate how damaging constant commentary about someone's body can be. Sometimes “I'm just saying” is the beginning of someone learning to hate something about themselves that they never had a problem with before.</p>
