Exactly. And I think the same principle applies to countries too. Love can be genuine, but it shouldn’t require you to keep suffering indefinitely without reciprocity. If a system consistently fails to provide the basic conditions for people to thrive, choosing to leave doesn’t automatically mean you stopped caring, it can simply mean you chose yourself.
