<p>I wouldn’t say women necessarily respect a man because he controls lust. But I do think people generally respect someone who has discipline and doesn’t let impulses run their life.</p>

Women respect a man who has confidence, a man that is smart and whatever other characters. But you cannot achieve this as a man when you have not overcome lust

So he can't even have the discipline per say if he hasn't overcome his own self desires - namely lust
