Why does it feel like a cage that's my question

I've come to see what we value as protection that can guide us from the "rough" ways of life might just do the opposite for some people

Shouldn't that make us more critical about how we practice keeping people safe?

This is different.

He had enough freedom, care and love, but he wanted more, and the more he wanted wasn't safe; they tried to advise him, but he didn't heed them.

He saw their love and care as a cage restricting him from the unnecessary life he wanted.
