<p>This is a lovely insight</p><p>For me it's 1986 the SAP devaluation under Babangida that's the real turning point before then naira was actually stronger than the dollar which is wild to think about now. SAP opened the door to everything we live with today devaluation import dependence inflation as a constant</p><p>If I could time travel I would want to feel what a strong naira actually felt like for regular people not just read about it in a textbook</p>

Yes! 👌1986 was definitely one of the major turning points in the naira’s history. The SAP reforms and the devaluation that followed changed the exchange-rate system significantly. I also found it fascinating to look back at a time when the naira was much stronger than the dollar. Your time-travel idea is interesting 😂 I think experiencing what that period actually felt like for ordinary Nigerians would make the history even more meaningful and would be able to Correct those mistakes we took.❤️
