A Month On TwoCents; A Journey Back To My Own Voice. ✍️

Make una read am, biko. 🙏🙈 So, I was supposed to post this yesterday, but… 😂 Yesterday, It’s exactly a month since I joined TwoCents, and trust me, I like every bit of it. When I first saw the link on Catalyst’s status, that if you know you can write and want to turn those writing skills into money, you should join the group, I decided to give it a try. Literally, I love anything academic, and you know, when you write, it also enhances your brain. The fact that I could even earn from it made me curious. So, I joined the group. Along the way, they said they wanted more people to join. We waited, and then the orientation day came. They were like, "Okay, these are the rules and guidelines of this app. These are this, these are that." But I wasn’t even participating that night. I was like, "Well, I’m not doing this again. There’s no big deal here." I think that should be around August 8th or something. So, I stopped checking the group. Any messages they dropped, I’d just leave them. Then there was a day Kira was like, "Ah, if you are not participating, if you are not active in this group, I’m going to remove you." Ah! And the fact that Catalyst was there… You know Catalyst is someone I hold in high regard, and I felt like if I got kicked out of the group, I would feel bad. I’d be like, "Ah, God, it’s like I failed Catalyst." You know now. 😂 So, I was just like, "Let me just check it out." I looked for the link, created my account, and was like, "What is all this? What is all this stress?" Okay, then, I was like, "Let me even unlock this earnings thing. Let me unlock it and see how far. Let me see if this thing is true or it’s a lie." That’s how I started writing and engaging. When I got to 500, I was like, "I want to impress Kira. Let me get to 1000 or 600 or something." 😂 But curiosity, they say, kills the cat. When I got to a certain point- I can’t even remember anymore, I was just like, "Ah, Kira, I have unlocked this thing, but I keep checking my earnings and nothing is there." I told her, and she was like, "Ah, that’s not how to do it." Then she referred me to Mr Tobi, the person who would unlock my earnings. He said I should screenshot my dashboard. I did, and he unlocked it for me. So, my money started coming in. When it got to ₦100, I was like, "Let me withdraw." I realised that the minimum withdrawal is <a class="tc-blue external-link external-link" href="https://twocents.space/insights/tag/200" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#200</a>. Okay, when I had ₦300, I was like, "Let me even withdraw ₦100. Let me see if this thing is real or fake." And lo and behold, ₦100 came out too! 😂 Then, some days later, I got a message from Mr Tobi that my account was on hold because they detected that I was using AI. Hey God! My head wan blow. 😭😂 And truly, I was using it. I mean, it got to a stage where I’d be like, "What do you want me to drop in this comment section?" I’d just copy it, take it to AI, and refine whatever it gives me. So, it wasn’t like they were going to ban my account immediately, but they would watch me over the weekend and see how far. At first, I was upset, but later on, I even had to tell him thank you. I was genuinely glad they cautioned me because, you know, if it were some people, they would just continue doing it. And like we’ve all been saying, AI is taking over our brains; I don't want that. After the weekend, I reached out to Mr Tobi and told him I was abiding by their rules. I asked him to help me check because my earnings had been slow, and it was crazy. I would comment, work, work, work, work, and nothing would show. Hey God! The money would just stay in one place. 😩 He said they would cross-check, and after they did, they told me my account had been unflagged. So, I started earning at the normal rate again. And ever since then, ha! Me, I don't use AI anymore. 😂 The first thing I posted after my account got unflagged was that one where I wrote, "Don’t think nobody knows. Because they know oooo, or perhaps someone knows. 😂 After that, I’d just carry my book, put down my thoughts, pra pra pra pra pra, and write. Before, it was laziness. It’s not as if nothing dey my head. I just wasn’t putting my thoughts down. Even if I send my work for grammatical corrections and see that it’s already spoiling my work, I’ll be like, "Don’t worry, let me just put it there raw and rough." No be my life you go spoil.. 🙂‍↔️ So, after that, I’ve been enjoying the app. Even before then, I was enjoying the app, but after my account got unflagged and I stopped using AI for my comments and stuff, guys, I love it even more. Because whatever engagement I want to drop comes straight from my head. And any day I don’t have anything to say, I’ll just leave that insight for a while, go through others, and then go back to it, read it again, and drop something. And trust me, it’s been good.
