<p>Anime isn't cartoons.</p><p><br/></p><p>I honestly think if you don't watch anime, you are missing a whole lot- for real.</p><p>And there is this whole debate about which is better. Either anime or peak brain rot, no offense intended to as many k drama fans out there.</p><p><br/></p><p>Ill give a simple analogy, so I can start making sense.</p><p><br/></p><p>Cartoons : "What if a dog could talk?"</p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/fd0427153adc186f764ec439e5b5252f.jpg"/></p><p>Anime : "What if that dog was the only one who remembered you after you died, and he's been waiting at the train station for 10 years in the rain?"</p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/21acb46a6bcfa8ea757eb6900301ae06.jpg"/></p><p>That's the difference.</p><p><br/></p><p>People think anime is just powers and shouting and big swords. That's kinda why I watch it sha. But that's just the body. The soul is always asking one question: What does it cost to stay human?</p><p><br/></p><p>And if are a Nigerian and didn't fall from mars, you already understand that question.</p><p><br/></p><p>Naruto is not just about the shinobi world, and sakura generally being a sakura. </p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/8d6f04b22b0e6026da68eefb59975e6b.jpg"/></p><p><br/></p><p>It's that one child in the compound that everybody calls stubborn, that nobody wants to play with. The child wey dey talk say "his head no correct." And that child still wakes up every morning and decides to love the people in that same compound until they have no choice but to respect him. That's Naruto. That's every last-born who had to fight for relevance and freedom from plate washing.</p><p><br/></p><p>Attack on Titan isn't just about titans and the mad ass graphics. </p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/9547f3f95b298915f3fbfe90c90b7dc6.jpg"/></p><p>It's what happens when you finally leave your house and realize everything your parents and teachers told you about the world outside was half-truth. The monsters are not monsters — they are just people on the other side of the fence, afraid of you the same way you were afraid of them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Demon Slayer isn't only about demons . It's about carrying all your family members on your back.</p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/f1f0b827ac37afd2a10c05fe71951a2d.jpg"/></p><p> Tanjiro carrying Nezuko through snow is every - well most Nigerian first borns carrying their siblings through life. She could destroy everything, but you refuse to give up on her because if you give up on her, you lose yourself.</p><p><br/></p><p>One Piece has run for 25 years not because Luffy can stretch. </p><p><br/></p><p>Because Luffy understood what we forgot in this country: Freedom is not dashed. You declare it. Luffy doesn't want to be King of the pirates to oppress anybody. He wants to be the king of the pirates because the King is the freest man on the sea. No landlord, no boss, no village people. Just free. Which Nigerian youth doesn't want that?</p><p><br/></p><p>And then there's the quiet ones. The ones that will spoil your day.</p><p><br/></p><p>Your Name. A Silent Voice. Violet Evergarden. Frieren. Peak fiction btw</p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/c67bb7ce181ab8f99b1c4a726fa82f9a.jpg"/></p><p>Frieren broke me. An elf who lives 1000 years watches her friends die like they just did 7 days. Only after they die she realizes she never really knew them. </p><p><br/></p><p>That's us. How many of our friends have we lost to Japa, to school stress, to life, and we never even asked how they were really doing? We were just saying "you good?" "I dey" and moving on.</p><p><br/></p><p>Anime makes you cry for people that never existed. </p><p><br/></p><p>It's the only place where a man can spend 12 episodes learning how to cook perfect fried rice and you will cry when the rice finally comes out right. Because you know it's not about rice. It's about proving you can still do one thing well when everything else is falling apart — like when NEPA takes light during your online exam.</p><p><br/></p><p>So if you still think it's just Japanese cartoons — go and watch one episode of Vinland Saga.</p><p><img alt="" src="/media/inline_insight_image/7e580295d8f75c1b8b75acb25b9b926f.jpg"/></p><p> Watch Thorfinn after revenge stops making sense. That emptiness? That "what next?" feeling? That's every Two cents writer after each posted insight </p><p><br/></p><p>It's never been about anime. It's about us. Just drawn with more honesty and better fight scenes.</p><p>Stay real, Izrplays </p>
At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
Top Engagers
For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via

The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
