BROKEN RIVERS AND FLOWING GLASSES
<p><span style="background-color: transparent;">So after the tears that I bled, I shouldn’t retaliate?</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎It feels good, you know? The thought of payback.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Just like returning a favor.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎“You do me, I do you, man no go vex.”  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎A fine ending to a story they started.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎You think the fire you created will warm your cold self, don’t you?  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Of course, it’s only fair that we all feel the heat.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎They left me bleeding; they deserve to bleed.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Why should I let bygones be bygones?</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎But broken rivers never find the sea, you know.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Their paths divide until they drown in dust.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎And flowing glasses spill what was once whole.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Tell me, what use is the iron when it all turns to rust?</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Maybe revenge is just a cracked mirror,  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Reflecting faces I no longer trust.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Perhaps healing isn’t in striking back,  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎But in letting go before I’m turned to ash.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎You don’t wake up one morning and say you feel my pain.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎There’s nothing to feel; it’s all numbness here.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Just turn a blind eye, because there’s nothing to stare at.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Don't be scared of me, please; the feeling of revenge hasn't consumed me whole.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Fear is not an option; last I checked, fear was a feeling; it’s all numbness here.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Sometimes I just want to make music and put it on vinyl,  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Just to see my pain rotate on its axis.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Just for no reason at all, just because I can.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Let me leave you to bask in this finished incompleteness.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Let me leave impossibilities to be impossibilities.  </span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎Who knows what I could expect.</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><span style="background-color: transparent;">‎</span></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
