Doing it afraid
<p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>If audacity was in Nigeria, I'd be an Algerian.</p><p>If audacity was in another city,</p><p>never would I have crossed the borders.</p><p><br/></p><p>When the names of the best are mentioned,</p><p>I count the rest because the end was certain.</p><p><br/></p><p>I've been scared of myself,</p><p>my goals,</p><p>and the world.</p><p>That's how I've chosen to live.</p><p><br/></p><p>Suddenly, there's a bother.</p><p>If I had a choice,</p><p>then I wouldn't wander.</p><p><br/></p><p>Why do I suddenly want to be a lawyer?</p><p>Isn't that for people with higher IQs,</p><p>or have I become a liar?</p><p><br/></p><p>Why do things that scare me</p><p>suddenly become amazing?</p><p>Can't I see that, honestly,</p><p>maybe it's not for me?</p><p><br/></p><p>I couldn't help but wonder.</p><p><br/></p><p>I've squandered ideas</p><p>because I thought it eerie to try.</p><p>Other times, I'd cry.</p><p><br/></p><p>Why?</p><p><br/></p><p>The weight of nothing</p><p>now feels heavy.</p><p>Am I useless,</p><p>or do I just feel less?</p><p><br/></p><p>In this confusion,</p><p>I made a conclusion:</p><p><br/></p><p>For as long as I am in motion,</p><p>I'll forever have a notion.</p><p><br/></p><p>So I'll do it afraid.</p><p>I'll try while uncertain.</p><p>I'll move without knowing</p><p>where the road ends.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe I don't need to stop being afraid.</p><p>Maybe I just need to begin.</p><p><br/></p><p>And perhaps,</p><p>for once,</p><p>I'll do it afraid.</p>
