<p><strong><em>I saw your sign,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Heart for sale.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Not shiny, not new.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>You didn't say it was rented,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>but returned late..</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Left on a shelf,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>in a broken state..</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>abandoned. </em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Neither did you say,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>it had cracks,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>and flinches when reached for..</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>That it learned to beat silently..</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>To avoid more cracks. </em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>I'm not here to buy it,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>own it,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>nor ask for a discount.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>I don't want a piece of you</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>for a smaller price.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Nor am I here to fix it,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>mend it,</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>or perfect it. </em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>I came because I recognised it.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>The tired kind</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>The cautious kind</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>The kind that still beats</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>even after broken on the road.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>You don't have to be numb to survive. </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>You can be soft and still stay.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>You can keep beating</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>without turning to stone</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>without being numb.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>So keep your heart.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Don't sell it.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p><strong><em>I know bandages don't make it new</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>But not everyone goes for shiny things.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em><br/></em></strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><em>I'm not assuring that it won't get stolen.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>Just letting you know there are better options.</em></strong></p>
