Little Words Matter!

Hi, Soul Anchor!

We’re starting a new series, and I truly hope this one blesses you just as much as Peace in the Storm did.

You see, one thing I’ve been learning, as someone who knows what it means to have dealt with low self-esteem, is that most of the struggles we face in how we see ourselves often begin with words. Words spoken to us, about us, and sometimes even the ones we’ve come to believe.

From childhood, you probably heard things like, “You’re too slim,” “Your sibling is more beautiful,” “You can’t do anything right.” For others, it wasn’t even about what was said, it was what was done. Watching parents show favoritism, or being constantly ignored, can quietly plant seeds of unworthiness.

And while some of us grew up acting indifferent, the truth is, those words and actions left imprints deeper than we could admit. That’s why it’s so important, both as Christians and as individuals, to be mindful of how we speak and the atmosphere we create.

The Bible reminds us, “Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone” (Colossians 4:6, NLT). Little words truly matter, they build or break, heal or hurt, affirm or diminish.

So today, choose words that give life. Build an environment of love, warmth, and grace around you. Someone’s heart may be learning to heal through your words.

I’m rooting for you, and more than that, Jesus is rooting even harder.

I remain,

Abbas_Comforted 🌿
