<p>Why have you chosen to lie to my face?<br/></p><p>Let the world continue to spin in its orbit,<br/></p><p>but don’t dump your mask on me.</p><p>Don’t you know critique is a necessity for excellence?</p><p>Don’t wear makeup over my truth.</p><p>Don’t you wish to see me grow?</p><p><br/></p><p>Are you afraid I will crumble?</p><p>Then let me handle the ruins;</p><p>at least I won’t be rumble.</p><p><br/></p><p>I play at the bank of the river</p><p>because you told me that was all there was.</p><p>You built the boundary, but I want to drown in the ocean.</p><p>Don’t make excuses</p><p>as to why you wear the masks.</p><p>I anticipate ugly faces.</p><p>They help me sharpen my blunt.</p><p><br/></p><p>Pierce my heart with your sword</p><p>and let me bleed.</p><p>Do not look away from the wound.</p><p>My blood is beautiful.</p><p>Let it stain my hands, so that it drips into my work.</p><p>My work thirsts for life.
