MAYBE I'M NOT ASKING FOR TOO MUCH

MAYBE I'M NOT ASKING FOR TOO MUCH .

Maybe I’m just tired of convincing myself that the bare minimum should be enough for me simply because I care about someone.

I want someone who notices when my energy changes. Someone who can tell when my “I’m fine” doesn’t really mean I’m fine. Someone who asks, “Are you okay?” and actually stays long enough to listen to the answer.

I want consistency. Not attention today and silence tomorrow. Not sweet words when everything is good and excuses whenever I need a little effort.

I don't expect perfection. I know people get busy, people get tired, and sometimes life gets in the way. But there is a difference between being busy and making someone feel forgotten.

Sometimes, I don't need expensive gifts or grand gestures. I just want to feel remembered. A simple message. A little reassurance. A genuine “How was your day?” Sometimes, that is enough to make someone feel loved.

And maybe that isn't too much to ask.

Maybe I have just been asking the wrong people for the right things.

Maybe I deserve a love that doesn't make me question whether I matter.
