Is it just me or there seems to be a rinse and repeat of Nollywood actors in recent movies? It's the same 5 people all over again, just different movie titles and costumes. It's amazing how well the Nigerian entertainment industry has travelled lately, the consumption of Nigerian content around the globe can be recognised.
The large churn out of movies by the industry has attracted more eyes and with a little observation, a few things can be noticed. Firstly, we love our actors and actresses but sometimes, we would like to miss them. I mean, I don't know about you but I'm not sure I can see any AY movie anytime soon...
In Hollywood, Dwayne Johnson was on a hot streak like that, starring in Jumanji, Skyscraper, Rampage and the F&F movie within a short time but he's been on a break since then, until Black Adam premiering soon. In Nollywood, it's like we have only two choices for a bad boy role, "Timini Egbuson and others". In his youthful days, Ramsey Nouah played the bad boy role so much that he was basically playing himself at some point.
One could argue that these movies are too expensive to start experimenting with new actors or actors inexperienced in a role. Also, some of these actors also produce the movies. Hmmm...
I just want to see more actors and actresses taking on new and challenging roles. We don't need to drag out the same ones at a stretch.
Cause I don't want to watch one more trailer then I'd see an actor and say, "Uh-huh. Of course he's in the movie" 😅😅
At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
