There’s this peace of mind that comes after coming clean. To be honest, though, it’s easier said than done. If you don’t tell the truth early, one lie leads to another, and before you know it, you’re covering lies with more lies.

That’s exactly what happened to me on TwoCents.

I joined TwoCents last year, but I only started posting content in March 2026, and people seemed to like what I shared. At first, I wanted to stay anonymous, but that became harder because I started meeting different writers and building a reputation on the platform. So, I created a second account called Bilal Kabir.

The first day I posted on that account, Cyrus asked me in the group chat if I knew who Bilal Kabir was. I was shocked. I panicked and said it was my brother because I had created the account using my second email address, which contained my full name.

One lie turned into several.

I abandoned the account after that, especially when I later learned that we were only allowed to have one account.

Then one day, Rylee reached out and suggested that we engage with each other’s posts. Somehow, I accidentally used the Bilal Kabir account to comment on his posts. When I noticed I quickly messaged him and claimed that I had sent his post to a friend who left the comment.

Another lie. 😭

Honestly, I should have reported myself that day and collected my two portions of rice. 😂

So yesterday, things took a different turn.

Cyrus asked Faye a question in the group chat, and while she was typing her response, I found myself staring at those three little typing dots, feeling strangely anxious. She kept typing, disappearing, then typing again. The suspense was killing me 😂. I don’t know if it was the suspense, or maybe I was simply tired of carrying something that had grown bigger than it needed to be.

I finally decided that this was the moment.

I dropped a message saying I wanted to come clean, and I admitted everything in the group.

Some people were shocked. Some people laughed. Nimmat jokingly said I should be penalized. I’ve known since day one that she doesn’t like me. Jumoke made sure nobody missed the confession by tagging people and directing them to the gist 😂.

Looking back, it’s honestly funny.

But the real MVP, though, was Cyrus. I broke his trust, and he still handled everything with maturity and grace. He forgave me, allowed me to keep the account, and only asked that it wouldn’t be monetized.

So, in case you also have one fake account somewhere, better come clean now. 😂

Bilal Kabir can remain as an anonymous account, but it can no longer be monetized. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

I also want to thank Faye. Without even realizing it, her conversation with Cyrus gave me the courage to finally tell the truth.

To everyone in the TwoCents family whom I disappointed, I’m sorry. I never created the second account with bad intentions or to deliberately deceive anyone. I simply wanted a separate space for a different style of writing. But mistakes are mistakes, and I’m grateful that you all gave me the chance to own mine.

And in case you decide to search for Bilal Kabir, you won’t find the account anymore. Bilal Kabir has been renamed and has officially become somebody else entirely. 😂

The biggest lesson I learned from all of this? Coming clean is uncomfortable for a moment, but hiding the truth is exhausting for much longer. If I hadn’t spoken up yesterday, I probably would have continued lying whenever something came up just to protect the first lie.

Today, though, my mind is lighter. And that peace feels worth far more than the fear I carried for months.

Much love to the TwoCents family, and thank you all for your understanding. ❤️
