PROTECT YOUR PEACE!

See ba, at some point in your life, you'll discover that some people are not really meant to be in your life, at all.

Yes, I said so!

Fine, they played certain roles in your life sometime in the past, but now? You're not even sure where they stand.

Truth is, as humans, we are constantly changing. Our priorities change. Our values become clearer. We begin to understand ourselves better. And sometimes, the people we started the journey with simply don't fit into the person we're becoming.

But that's okay, Hun.

Overtime, I was misled into thinking that friendship has to be a lifetime contract. But then, I asked myself, "Must someone remain in my life simply because they were there during one chapter of it?"

An honest answer is no.

Why?

Because some people are meant to be chapters, not the entire book.

You feel me, yeah? 🌚

Sometimes, you've just got to stop explaining yourself and let them leave.

Because, if they're meant to leave, there's really nothing you can do about it.

Don't get me wrong though, protecting your peace doesn't always mean that someone is a bad person.

No, it doesn't.

It simply means that you're recognising that the relationship is no longer healthy for you.

And this is where things get difficult.

It's very easy to say, "I'll just cut them off and move on."

But when it's someone you've known for years, someone who knows your embarrassing stories, someone who was there for you when no one else was?

Suddenly, it isn't so simple anymore.

You might even feel guilty and ungrateful at times.

I get that.

But mind you, you don't really need long paragraphs or arguments to end a friendship.

You can simply communicate boundaries and reduce your availability.

Trust me, it works.

Now, I'm not asking you to cut off all your friends after reading this.

No, please. 😅

The baseline is that your circle matters more than you may realise.

Choose your circle wisely!

I know, I know. We were commanded in the Bible to love everyone, but we weren't asked to be friends with everyone though.

I'm pretty sure there's no obligation attached to friendship in the Qur'an as well.

Am I right?

Anyways, don't be afraid of having fewer friends. Because the goal isn't to have many people around you, but to have the right people around you.

Let that sink in.

Peace is valuable.

Protect it!

Choose people who allow you to breathe. People who genuinely want to see you win. People who don't turn your vulnerability into ammunition.

And if you eventually realise that someone no longer belongs in your life, don't be afraid to let them go.

It doesn't make you wicked.

It doesn't make you proud.

It doesn't mean you think you're better than them.

Sometimes, it simply means you've finally understood that your peace deserves a seat at the table too.

That understanding might change your circle.

But maybe, just maybe, it might save your peace.
