Tell Your Story

Growing up, I was lucky enough to have my grandma close by. She told me fascinating stories about tradition, archeological discoveries and science.

Stories I wish were documented, because they were original, undiluted and truly African.

On tradition, she told me about how certain masquerades were not to be seen by women , in fact, lights were completely turned off during the procession at night.

On archeological discoveries, she revealed how some art works were discovered in my village which had some Hebrew inscriptions on them.

However, this had some correlation with the same discovery at a place called Aguleri in Anambra state.

On science, she talked extensively how ice blocks fell from the sky when it rains.

On some occasions, fishes trapped during transpiration fell back with the ice. Yes, Fishes... It didn't make sense to me then till I read about it on one of the Awake publications.

Do you think we are getting enough stories from our aged parents and grandparents ?

What are those stories you were told that you think should have been documented ?

Let's have your say.
