The depth beneath our surface- from one ocean to another.

When we first touched,

there was no thunder.

No need to stir up waves or rearrange the skies.

We didn’t mix.

We didn’t merge.

We simply met

like two oceans that had traveled miles of pain, of beauty,

only to find peace at the edge of each other.

You didn’t ask me to become you.

I didn’t need to change my tides to match yours.

We just rested.

Side by side.

Breathing in unison but still fully ourselves.

And yet… what you didn’t see,

what I never let the surface reveal,

was that beneath my calm… I was breaking.

I had loved before.

Desperately.

Like saltwater clinging to burning skin.

Like You Are My Everything—a love that consumed me,

until I forgot where I ended and they began.

I had called someone my world once.

And when they left,

they took the sun with them.

Then there was the goodbye I never healed from.

The one I still carry in low tide.

The Happiest Year of my life that ended not with a crash

but with a quiet, aching drift.

I told them thank you.

I meant it.

But it still hurt to let go.

After that, I stopped reaching for the shore.

I became silent waves.

Distant, deep.

So many people tried to swim in me,

but none stayed long enough to know my depth.

Another Love left me empty.

I gave my best to people who didn’t know how to hold it.

So I held myself instead.

Cold.

Still.

Exhausted.

Then… I found you.

No.

You found me.

You—steady, soft.

You didn’t ask for the sunshine.

You stayed through my storms.

You saw how dark it got at the bottom and didn’t flinch.

And suddenly,

without trying,

we became something sacred.

Not two oceans crashing

but meeting.

Unmixed.

Unmoved.

Yet unshakably drawn.

Loving you has been like “Until I Found You”.

Like realizing I didn’t have to collapse into someone to be close.

Like remembering I could be fully me,

and still be held.

You didn’t fix me.

You just made space beside me.

And somehow, that was everything I never knew I needed.

We are still our own waters.

Still rising with different moons.

Still shaped by different winds.

But now,

we speak in waves.

And somewhere between your stillness and my silence,

we became a language no one else can translate.

Two oceans.

Unmixed.

But undeniably… in love
