THE GIRL WHO GAVE BIRTH TO THE ALPHA'S WOLF

Episode 3: The Child Who Remembered Her Death

The little girl was locked inside the castle's deepest dungeon before dawn.

She did not cry, scream, or beg for mercy. She simply sat on the stone floor, humming a lullaby that Mara recognized from her dreams.

When Mara confronted her, the girl looked up and smiled.

"You're late, Mother."

"Stop calling me that."

"But you always come back to me."

Mara crouched in front of the iron bars.

"Who are you?"

The girl tilted her head.

"I was the first person you ever loved."

"You're a child."

"I was a child when you buried me, too."

Mara backed away, her heart pounding.

The girl continued humming.

Then she spoke a name that made Mara's blood turn cold.

"Elowen."

It was the name Mara had heard in her dreams, the name spoken by the silver-eyed man before the bone throne.

Ronan arrived moments later and ordered the guards to leave.

When they were alone, he finally revealed part of the truth.

Thousands of years ago, the First Wolf had ruled a world where humans and werewolves lived under a fragile peace. His power could heal any wound, command any wolf, and destroy entire armies.

But his sister, Elowen, feared what he would become.

She convinced their mother to help imprison him.

The attempt ended in blood.

Elowen died, the mother vanished, and the First Wolf's soul shattered into thousands of pieces that became the foundation of the werewolf species.

"That story is in our oldest scriptures," Ronan explained. "But the scriptures say the mother sacrificed herself to save the world."

Mara looked toward the dungeon.

"Then who is that girl?"

"We don't know."

That night, Mara dreamed again.

She stood in a burning palace, wearing a bloodstained white gown. Before her knelt a massive white wolf with ice-blue eyes.

It was beautiful and terrifying.

The wolf spoke with a human voice.

You promised you would never abandon me.

Mara began to cry.

"I don't know you."

The wolf lowered its head.

You said you loved me.

Then Mara saw herself holding a sword.

She drove it into the wolf's chest.

It fell at her feet, and the entire world went dark.

She woke screaming.

Her baby was standing on the bed.

Not crawling.

Standing.

His small body was surrounded by swirling shadows, and his black eyes had turned ice-blue.

"Mother," he said, "you remember now."

Mara scrambled backward.

"What are you?"

The child looked almost offended.

"Your son."

Then he touched her forehead.

A flood of memories tore through her mind.

She saw herself standing before a throne, thousands of years earlier. She saw the First Wolf kneeling before her, not as a monster but as a wounded child begging her not to leave.

She saw a war.

She saw the little girl from the dungeon being dragged away by soldiers.

And finally, she saw the truth.

She had killed the First Wolf in her previous life.

But before his soul shattered, he had made one final request.

When I return, please don't let them turn me into a monster again.

Mara fell to her knees.

Her son climbed into her lap and wrapped his tiny arms around her neck.

"You killed me because you were afraid," he whispered. "Will you do it again?"

Before she could answer, the castle bells began to ring.

Ronan burst into the room, his sword drawn.

"The elders are here," he said. "And they've brought the execution order."

He looked at Mara.

"Not for your son."

His voice broke.

"For you."

Episode 4: The Royal Elders' Secret, coming soon
