You know, I never thought I'd ever be loved like the way he loves me. He makes me feel safe. Seen... Heard.

I had not completely given up on love though but I never thought it could be like the one he showed me. He loved me like he knew me. Like he knew what I wanted and how I wanted it.

"You're beautiful." He said, staring deep into my eyes. My cheeks were flaming and I was sure he could tell.

"Thank you." I said with a bright smile, "You make me feel beautiful."

"Do I?" He asked with a brow raised like he didn't know that already.

I rolled my eyes, "Of course. You know that already." I said and turned away from him, stretching my legs out of my red dress on the cloth we had laid on the ground to sit on.

He had brought me to his favorite place. The edge of a small mountain top that faced a lake and a large dense forest across. Somewhere he said was very special to him.

"Do you know why I brought you here?" He asked, facing the world across.

I turned back to him, my smile widening, "Because I'm special to you?" I asked, teasingly.

He snorted, "Aren't they all?"

Pause.

I paused.

Arent they all? Who are they?

My smile vanished immediately, "Wh-who are they?"

He turned his head back to face me, "The other women I brought here."

Silence.

I couldn't speak. I couldn't really believe it.

Not the words though. It was how he said them.

"Hold on," He slightly turned his body to me, "Don't tell me you thought you were my first."

I opened my mouth to speak but I could only stutter utter nonsense. "I-I...I"

"Shusssh... Just stop."

My heart was racing. Something was wrong.

"Anyways," He continued, "I brought you here for a reason-"

"Do you love me?" I cut him off with a question. A question I didn't need to ask because I already knew the answer. At least I thought I did. Or am I just overthinking this?

"What?"

That wasn't the answer I needed but I wasn't going to dwell on this. I am definitely overthinking it.

"You know what? Nevermin-"

"No, no, no, Cristine." He cut me off this time, grabbing hold of my hand and staring into my eyes again but this time, his seemed...dead.

"What do you think?" He asked.

What do I think? What am I supposed to think?

"I...I really don't know." I answered honestly. I don't even know what was happening anymore. "I don't think you do."

"Oh, but I do!" He squeezed my hands tight as he answered, "I've imagined everything and it looks so beautiful! A work of art!"

I was heartbroken by his weird actions but his words were comforting. But not as comforting as it should be.

"Your blood would be like paint on the rocks and your scattered remains like the rough edges of a painting. It would be a magnificent sight!"

What?!

He beamed as he stared at my shocked face. "Yes! That's how they all look when I tell them."

No.

"I don't love you for you. No, that's insane. I love you for your inner beauty." He said with a scary grin. "Literally."

Before I could blink, there was a knife lodged in my chest and my scream followed like an echo with my fall. I realized I was falling to my death as his figure quickly became smaller as he stood on the edge.

I closed my eyes one last time but they suddenly went wide open as I shot up, gasping for breath.

No! No!

I was expecting the pain but nothing came. I felt my chest before I looked.

There was nothing there. What-...How? Was that...all a dream?

My phone lit up on my bed with a new notification.

"Get ready, babe. I want to take you to my favorite place because you're special to me.

Wear red. You know that's my favorite col

our." --Micheal.

It's just a dream... Right?
