The Wisdom of God vs. The Wisdom of the World

Me and my mom were having a discussion about someone, and she said, “Why she nor wise sef?” 😂And I told her that it is God that gives wisdom.Though there is the normal wisdom of the world o, but the true and honourable wisdom is with God. Even the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:19 (KJV):“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.”And this made me remember something that happened to me at the shop.A customer came to wash her hair, and while washing it, I applied shampoo. After the shampoo, I wanted to apply conditioner, but when I picked up the conditioner bottle, I realised there was nothing inside.I asked the other apprentice, and they told me there wasn't any conditioner. The customer was already upset and started complaining.All I could say was, “I'm sorry ma. I just resumed back from school and I wasn't aware that there wasn't conditioner because we usually have more than enough shampoo and conditioner in the salon.”I then poured some water into the conditioner bottle, shook it and tried to use what was left on her hair. It wasn't enough because her hair was full, but I still managed to apply it as much as I could.The customer kept complaining and talking anyhow, but I still didn't talk back to her. I just kept saying, “I'm sorry ma.”Eventually, I finished washing her hair and she left angrily.Immediately she left, my other colleagues started talking. They said they could never be foolish enough to tell a customer sorry, that saying sorry doesn't mean the customer will come back, and that they would never bring themselves so low to beg a customer.But I was thinking about what they said.Later, when the boss came, they reported what happened. That's when I found out that there was actually a sachet of conditioner in the salon.The boss asked them why they didn't use it, and they said the customer was nonchalant and didn't deserve it.And I started thinking...If I had talked back to that customer, and she slapped me, then I fought her back, would they have clapped for me and called me wise?If they reported to the boss that I fought with her customer, would the boss be happy?Would she take my side?Or even send me out of the salon?Sometimes, what the world calls “being wise” is actually foolishness.So what is the wisdom of this world?Sometimes, it is pride—thinking you are better or wiser than everyone else. Taking advantage of people and calling it wisdom. Cheating others all in the name of being smart. Competing with everyone. Using your words to bring people down and make them feel bad about themselves.It can even be seeing an innocent person passing by and saying insultive words just to hurt them, and when the person doesn't respond, calling them a fool and continuing the act.It can be worldliness, indecent dressing just to feel among or attract attention, envy, deceit, and so many other things.The world can make these things look like “wisdom” because they bring temporary pleasure, attention, money, or advantage.Joseph in the bible is a typical example If Joseph had used the wisdom of the world and slept with Potiphar's wife, he might have gotten temporary pleasure or thought he had gained something. But he would have missed God's purpose for his life.Joseph chose God's wisdom over temporary pleasure, and God took him from the prison to the palace.The wisdom of this world gives you present gain, pleasure, attention, or advantage, but God's wisdom gives you something much deeper.The wisdom of God brings peace, joy, freedom, direction, love, purpose, honour and fulfilment.The wisdom of God is choosing to please Him with your words, your attitude, your beauty, your talents, your thoughts, and in the way you treat other people.God's wisdom teaches you to love, to be kind, to be humble, to forgive, and to do what is right even when the world tells you otherwise.And the more we allow God to take over our lives, the more truly ourselves we become, because He is the One who created us. ❤️The wisdom of this world can destroy.But the wisdom of God builds.The wisdom of this world gives temporary pleasure.The wisdom of God gives lasting peace and fulfilment.The wisdom of this world can't take you anywhere The wisdom of God will take you far in life, even beyond this worldGod's wisdom is the true wisdom. 🥺❤️So, which wisdom are you choosing? 🤍
