Till Death Do Us Apart - A Warrior's Dirge
<p>Empty heads and bloody hands, </p><p>I fought and slaughtered enemies for you, </p><p>The Disbelief, skepticism, and fear, </p><p>I believed if I carried my sword again you'd do the same... </p><p><br/></p><p>You ran, </p><p>From everything, at the very time I needed a shoulder and a shield,</p><p>My dearest soldier left me in the presence of my enemies. </p><p>I survived, but it is my blood that runneth over on the dark soil. </p><p><br/></p><p>You came back,</p><p>To check my wellbeing, </p><p>If you could find shelter in my abode, </p><p>Again.</p><p><br/></p><p>You brought the storm with you,</p><p>The enemies only came when I sought rest, and peace, not you, but you came again.</p><p>You brought blood with you,</p><p>Never showing me the wounds to tend to, but you wanted my bleeding to stop.</p><p><br/></p><p>So I gave up my sword, and chose a life only I could be,</p><p>You came again with your blood, and painted me with it.</p><p>I'm tainted of you, and stained_</p><p>With hands that miss holding you, thoughts that keep showing you, spirits I keep seeing you.</p><p><br/></p><p>If you fought I would've chosen death by your side, in your arms.</p><p>If you stayed I would've chosen tomorrow, and forever.</p><p>If you had gone I would've chosen solitude, and rest.</p><p>For my life with the sword is done.</p><p><br/></p><p>Alas! Here you are, as expected, again with your blood to bathe me, again_</p><p>The storm is looming on the horizon, again...</p><p><br/></p><p>So the warrior of a thousand days, died.</p><p>And they lived happily ever after, apart.</p><p><br/></p><p>...</p><p><br/></p><p>This cottage is empty, feels lonely,</p><p>I miss the storm, and the fight, and the blood,</p><p>I miss being that soldier, as much as I miss you,</p><p>But I must attend to feed the fields again, the grass that left my cottage must green again.</p><p><br/></p>
