TIME

Time is the most honest thief we will ever know. It doesn't break into our houses at night; it sits with us in broad daylight, smiling politely as it takes little pieces of us without permission, and we thank it for staying. We treat time like an endless river that will always flow past our doorstep, forgetting that rivers dry up, and doorsteps are abandoned, and someday the water will stop coming altogether.

We live as though we have negotiated a private agreement with time, as though it signed a contract to wait until we are ready, until we have enough money, enough courage, enough clarity. We tell ourselves we will love people properly later, when we are less busy, we will chase our dreams later, when the fear is quieter, we will apologize later, when our pride is smaller. And while we are busy postponing life, life is quietly happening without us, moving forward with or without our consent.

What makes time truly mysterious is that it doesn't punish you loudly. It doesn't shout when you waste it. It just watches. It lets you laugh, it lets you scroll for hours, it lets you keep malice for years, it lets you stay in places that drain you, and it says nothing. It is only later, in a quiet evening when the noise finally dies down, that you hear its real voice, and by then its voice sounds like regret.

Because time is not really about clocks and calendars. Time is about people. It is the mother you meant to call but didn't. It is the childhood house you swore you would revisit before it was sold. It is the friend whose laughter you took for granted until his number stopped ringing. It is the version of yourself you kept promising to become, who is now waiting on the other side of years, wondering if you will ever show up.

And that is the deepest lesson life teaches us in the dark. That time does not give you what you want; it gives you what you invest in it. If you invest it in bitterness, you will harvest emptiness. If you invest it in love, in presence, in becoming, in small sincere moments, it will return to you multiplied.

So if you still have today, you still have everything. Don't wait for a perfect moment to live, because perfect moments don't come, they are created when you decide to be present. Love now, not later. Forgive now, not when it is convenient. Build now, not when you feel ready. Because the hourglass in the picture is not just an object, it is us. The sand is falling every second, and no prayer can turn it upwards.

Time will not wait for you to understand its value before it leaves.
