Tribalism (last ep)

Shola and Ife had rushed to the police station, hoping to find out why Moyin had been taken away.

But what they heard was something neither of them expected.

The police informed them that Moyin had already confessed to Ahmad's murder.

And apparently, there was a witness.

Shola couldn't believe what he was hearing.

The secret he had tried so hard to keep hidden had finally come out. Moyin had spoken, and there was nothing he could do to change what had happened.

Shola broke down in tears.

But as he stood there, something from his past came rushing back to him.

He remembered an incident from their childhood, something that had happened when he and Moyin were much younger.

He remembered how Hausa people had brutally killed their father.

That experience had affected him deeply. It was the reason he developed such hatred towards Hausa people.

Perhaps, in his mind, he had convinced himself that he was protecting his sister from experiencing something similar. But somewhere along the line, his hatred had gone beyond the experience that caused it.

He had allowed what happened to his father to shape how he saw an entire ethnic group.

And now, everything came together.

Remember the Hausa people Shola and Ife encountered after escaping from their kidnappers?

The people who helped them find safety?

Those were the same people Shola had spent years hating.

The irony was difficult to ignore.

He had carried hatred for so long, yet when he found himself in a difficult situation, it was people from the very ethnic group he despised who came to his rescue.

For the first time, Shola began to see things differently.

He realised that the actions of some people shouldn't be used to judge everyone who shares their ethnicity.

The people who killed his father were responsible for their actions. But that didn't make every Hausa person guilty.

Unfortunately, he had allowed his childhood experience and hatred to influence his decisions, and Ahmad had paid the ultimate price.

Shola began apologising.

He was sorry for what he had done, sorry for the hatred he had carried, and perhaps most importantly, sorry for the lives his actions had affected.

But there was one problem.

His apology couldn't bring Ahmad back.

It couldn't erase the pain Moyin had experienced, and it couldn't undo everything that had happened.

The damage was already done.

And that was where the story left us.

I kept thinking about everything that had happened, especially how Shola's hatred had affected people who had nothing to do with what happened to his father.

Ahmad lost his life. Moyin lost the man she loved and was left carrying a terrible secret. Ahmad's family was left mourning their son without knowing the truth for so long.

All because so

meone allowed hatred to become bigger than humanity.

Now Moyin has to pay for shola's actions ....

The end 💔😓
