<p>The strategy of hunger.</p><p>I attended an event today held by a cooperative in honor of APC’’s candidate for the governorship election in Osun state. The man also happened to be undergoing a post graduate degree at my university.</p><p> The candidate donated 10 million Naira to a cooperative of over 6,000 people, and they all shouted in jubilation, and this made me think.</p><p> “HUNGER” has become a tool in politics. A strategy to brainwash the people. For a cooperative of that number, how much will be given?</p><p> Two things were put into appropriation; poverty and hunger and they echoed that sum of money aloud, forgetting their numbers in comparison to the number they heard.</p><p> A manifesto wasn’t needed, that amount pleaded. In their eyes a solution was given, in mine a tragedy was given.</p>
