<p>When was the last time you did something purely because you enjoyed it, despite being completely terrible at it? Somewhere between entering the workforce and trying to navigate our late twenties and thirties, the concept of play died. Every single thing we touch now has to be optimized, monetized or tracked. We have systematically erased the concept of baseline joy. If an activity doesn't yield financial return or measurable self-improvement, we treat it like a waste of potential. We have been conditioned to feel guilty for engaging in anything that doesn’t build a personal brand or optimize our output. When did we convince ourselves that we aren't allowed to exist without turning our leisure into labour?</p>
