<p>This really made me rethink how easily we confuse maturity with being quiet, responsible and convenient for everyone else. 🥺 The examples of children learning to swallow their emotions just to be called “mature” really stood out to me. I also love the question at the end because sometimes the people who were once controlled by those expectations grow up and unknowingly become the ones enforcing them. Powerful piece. 👏🏽❤️</p>
