<p>That “Then let Him prove He exists” line hit differently because she doesn't actually argue with Alice’s pain she just leaves the question hanging. And honestly, I think that's what makes the scene work. Alice isn't really asking for an explanation of why God allows suffering; she's asking why He didn't intervene when she desperately needed Him to. Those are two very different questions.</p>
