Sometimes you know the person isn't giving you what you need, but you keep making room for the version of them you've imagined. You end up being patient with things you wouldn't normally accept because you're holding on to what the relationship could become. And before you know it, you're emotionally invested in a possibility rather than the person standing in front of you. That's a hard thing to admit.</p>
