A MAN'S PATH: You Can’t Understand
Listen to this Insight

No, you can’t.

And I pray you never do.

It’s a cycle relentless, grinding, a wheel of fire that scorches as it spins. You push, you strive, you dream, only to find that your very existence is a threat. Why? The Akassa people of Nigeria say it best: “Fish wey go big, nah from small them go know am.” The fish destined to grow big is spotted early. And so are you.

You are a threat because you dare. You challenge the norms, the status quo, the unspoken rules that bind society. You question the systems that thrive on ignorance, the governments that rule by keeping minds small. Knowledge is your weapon, and they fear it. They fear you.

You sit in an interview room, your dreams tucked neatly into your resume. But they don’t see your potential—they see your power. They see someone who might outshine them, someone who might make them irrelevant. So they shut the door. Again.

In a world where women uplift women, and even men champion women’s causes, the African man is left to grind. Alone. You fight not just to be great, but to survive. The battle has shifted—it’s no longer just about the body or the mind. It’s about the soul, the spirit. Some fight with knowledge, others with charms, and some on their knees. Which path do you choose?

Let’s not pretend. No man walks this road alone anymore. You must hold something above you, something unseen. Because even as you fight and build, you don’t fully understand.
