Access Holdings: What I discovered from analysing

I've been spending some time analysing Access Holdings Plc, and some of the things I discovered made me want to pay closer attention to the business.

Between 2020 and 2025, its total assets grew from approximately ₦8.68 trillion to ₦51.27 trillion. Its gross earnings also increased year after year within the period I examined.

But here's where things get interesting.

Growth is one thing. Sustainable profitability, credit quality and shareholder value are another.

My research also revealed some areas that deserve caution, particularly the significant credit impairment charges recorded in 2025 and the decline in profitability.

So, is Access Holdings an interesting business to follow?

I think it is worth examining more closely.

I'm particularly interested in how the company manages its next phase of growth, improves its financial performance and creates value for shareholders.

Personally, I'll be keeping an eye on this business over the next three years.

I believe investors should spend more time understanding businesses, studying their financial statements and following their performance rather than simply chasing popular stocks.

What do you look at first when analysing a banking stock: profitability, asset quality, valuation or business growth?
