ÀDÙNÍ: THE NAME I MUST CARRY
<p>After profound reflection, I realized that some names are not ordinary.</p><p><br/></p><p>Some names are more than names.</p><p><br/></p><p>Some names carry stories</p><p><br/></p><p>Some carry sacrifice.</p><p><br/></p><p>Some carry the love of someone who believed in you long before the world sees</p><p><br/></p><p>And for me, <strong>ÀDÙNÍ</strong> is one of those names.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Àdùní</strong> is my gold’s panegyric.</p><p><br/></p><p>It's a name that carries a woman's sacrifice, love, dedication, patience, care.</p><p><br/></p><p>The name that reminds me of my source, where I came from and most importantly the person for whom is the reason I keep going.</p><p><br/></p><p>So, I decided to make a change.</p><p><br/></p><p>I am leaving <strong>OLAREWAJU</strong> as my creator and pen name and taking up <strong>ÀDÙNÍ</strong>.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not because Olarewaju means nothing to me, but because I want to carry something greater with me.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>I know I am moving somewhere.</p><p><br/></p><p>I don't know how far and how well the road is but I'm ready to take it.</p><p><br/></p><p>And I know I am going to be great </p><p><br/></p><p>I know I am going to fly.</p><p><br/></p><p>So when my wings spread and I soar across the world, I want her to be with me as well.</p><p><br/></p><p>It may be physical or not.</p><p><br/></p><p>But I want the name to travel farther than my feet can.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because if someday my stories are heard, </p><p><br/></p><p>If my words become books,</p><p><br/></p><p>If my name transcends beyond where I began,</p><p><br/></p><p>I want to look back and be calm, knowing fully well that I carry a piece of her with me.</p><p><br/></p><p>This is not just a change of pen name.</p><p><br/></p><p>It's my little way of saying.</p><p><br/></p><p>I see you</p><p><br/></p><p>I appreciate you </p><p><br/></p><p>I adore you</p><p><br/></p><p>I celebrate you</p><p><br/></p><p>I honour you</p><p><br/></p><p>I love you</p><p><br/></p><p>I remember the sacrifice</p><p><br/></p><p>I remember everything </p><p><br/></p><p>And I am grateful for what you have done, Mum </p><p><br/></p><p>Wherever my destiny takes my legs, I shall carry your name with me.</p><p><br/></p><p>Henceforth, I write as <strong>ÀDÙNÍ</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>And maybe,</p><p><br/></p><p>maybe,</p><p><br/></p><p>One day,</p><p><br/></p><p>the world will know why.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>@ÀDÙNÍ</strong></p>
