<p>ALMOST SOMETHING</p><p><br/></p><p>Chapter Three — The Little Things</p><p><br/></p><p>Over the next few days, Amara and Daniel became closer.</p><p><br/></p><p>It started with small things.</p><p><br/></p><p>He would save her a seat when she was late.</p><p><br/></p><p>She would remind him about assignments he forgot.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sometimes, they didn't even talk.</p><p><br/></p><p>They would just sit beside each other, sharing quiet moments that somehow felt comfortable.</p><p><br/></p><p>Teni noticed everything.</p><p><br/></p><p>“You two are always together now,” she teased one afternoon.</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara laughed. “We're just friends.”</p><p><br/></p><p>“Hmm. Sure.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara ignored her, but the words stayed in her mind.</p><p><br/></p><p>That evening, Daniel sent her a message.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel: Did you get home safely?</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara smiled at her screen.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was such a simple question.</p><p><br/></p><p>But somehow, it meant more than it should.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe that was how it happened.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not through grand gestures.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not through promises.</p><p><br/></p><p>Just little things that slowly became important.</p><p><br/></p><p>And without realizing it, Amara was starting to look forward to seeing him every day.</p>
