Awaiting the Beacon
<p>From shadowed peaks, cloud consumes,</p><p>Telling tales of hours reused.</p><p>He glances fore and aft, confused,</p><p>The wanderer to nothingness reduced.</p><p><br/></p><p>Shame sheds crippling tunes,</p><p>Guilt splinters into a ravenous feud.</p><p>Mind and body bear arms anew,</p><p>Within and without, the entities fuse.</p><p><br/></p><p>The soul dissolves in crackling scores,</p><p>Birthed again in misty gore.</p><p>Like a drooling beast, it reaped and tore,</p><p>Ravaging the certainty of the lands of ‘before’.</p><p><br/></p><p>The past and future coalesce in uncertainty,</p><p>Form and function dissipate in anxiety.</p><p>Transfixed in freefall, stripped of agency,</p><p>A sail without a sailor is the greatest calamity.</p><p><br/></p><p>I want, I wish, I gather, I tame,</p><p>Hoping for light to glimmer in the mundane.</p><p>These are days when life seems a game,</p><p>With controls that rest outside my gaze.</p><p><br/></p><p>I travel, I rest, I question, I gaze,</p><p>Within my home, I become a stateless sage.</p><p>I laugh, I cry, I smile, I rage,</p><p>Awaiting the beacon that dawns a new age.</p><p><br/></p><p>The age of clarity,</p><p>When all becomes clear with maximum resolution.</p><p><br/></p><p>The age of agency,</p><p>When intent now drives life’s propulsion.</p><p><br/></p><p>The age of actualization,</p><p>When identity becomes apparent to the self.</p><p><br/></p><p>The age of independence,</p><p>When emotions are not nourished outside of the self.</p><p><br/></p><p>The age of purpose,</p><p>Where form and function are defined.</p><p><br/></p><p>The age of truth,</p><p>Where reality is perceived as reality.</p><p><br/></p><p>The age of certainty,</p><p>When confusion lifts its haze and what is and what isn’t can be differentiated.</p><p><br/></p><p>The age of liberation,</p><p>When the mind eases its barricades, man is unshackled and allowed autonomy.</p>
