Cassandra had told them she was going to Tiana's house, and by that time, she should have returned.

But Cassandra was nowhere to be found.

Her mother picked up her phone and called Tiana.

“Hello, Tiana. Please, where is Cassandra?”

“Good evening, ma. Cassandra left my house a long time ago. She said she was going home.”

Mrs. Balogun exchanged a worried look with her husband.

“She said she was going home? Are you sure? Have you heard from her since then?”

“No, ma.”

“Please, Tiana, do you know anywhere else she might have gone? You're like a sister to her. You know how much we care about her. Please, if she told you anything, anything at all, tell me.”

Tiana hesitated.

She genuinely wanted to help, but she had no idea where Cassandra could be. What Mrs. Balogun didn't know was that Cassandra had told Tiana two weeks earlier that she and Eniola had broken up.

Because of that, Tiana never imagined Cassandra would visit him.

“I'm sorry, ma. She didn't tell me she was going anywhere else.”

Mrs. Balogun ended the call, but her anxiety only grew.

Together with her husband, she began searching the estate. They visited neighbours, asked security personnel if they had seen Cassandra and checked places where their daughter might have gone.

Nobody had seen her.

They eventually went to the house of a young man they knew Cassandra sometimes jogged with.

The young man was surprised by their visit.

“Cassandra? No, sir. She hasn't been here. She has never come to my house.”

By then, Mrs. Balogun was struggling to contain her fear.

It was getting late, and Cassandra had not returned home.

At about 9 p.m., the couple decided to visit the police station.

They explained the situation to the officers on duty, but the response they received only made Mrs. Balogun more desperate.

“Madam, your daughter has not been missing for 24 hours yet. You may need to wait before we can formally treat this as a missing-person case.”

Mrs. Balogun stared at the officer in disbelief.

“Wait for what? My daughter left home, and nobody knows where she is! What if something has happened to her?”

“Madam, please calm down. We understand your concern, but—”

“No!” she interrupted, striking the table with her hand. “Please, I'm begging you. Help me find my daughter. That is all I'm asking for!”

Her husband held her arm gently, trying to calm her down.

But there was little he could do.

They eventually left the station and returned home, hoping Cassandra would walk through the door.

She didn't.

Throughout the night, they called her phone repeatedly. Sometimes, it rang, but Cassandra never answered. At other times, the calls failed to connect.

Neither parent slept.

Every passing hour brought another frightening possibility.

Where was their daughter?

And why wasn't she answering her phone?

Next part loading..........
