And yes I’m critiquing capitalism so bear with me for those who believe in the invisible hand of the free market watching this video. As Donald Cohen and Allen Mikaelian states in The Privitiazation of Everything “…,the power of businesses, when given control over a public good, is immense. Corporations entrusted with public goods have effectively been given the power to lock people up, force them into a parallel justice system, deny them life-saving treatments, place vital information behind paywalls, divert money from poverty programs to wealthy investors, tie the hands of governments, and undermine our constitutional rights. Giving power over public goods to the free market does not dilute power; instead, it concentrates power in private hands and makes it unaccountable.” More on that later. <h4>B. The Arms of The State(DEA).</h4>These questions of the healthcare system are brought up by the discovery of the blue angel mushroom which challenges the very notion of such a system that partly consists of Pharmaceutical and Insurance companies benefiting the public with their services while profiting of human bodies in the United States in the show, but with the discovery of the blue angel mushroom, it becomes a threat that can literally put all these middlemen out of business, due to this case, the DEA is used as an arm of the state to control the matter at hand, as it poses a threat to the existing power structure, to the existing forms of capital accumulation .
