Social media has made it possible for us to witness the achievements, celebrations and seemingly perfect moments of hundreds of people before we've even had breakfast.

And because we see so much, we unconsciously begin to measure.

“She's younger than me.”

“He's already doing this.”

“At my age, she has achieved more.”

“What am I doing with my life?”

And that last question?

That one can be dangerous.

Because comparison rarely begins by telling you that you are worthless.

It starts much more quietly.

It tells you that you're behind.

Behind who?

You don't even know.

Behind what timeline?

You were never given one.

Yet somehow, you begin treating somebody else's life as a deadline for your own.

And this is where I think our generation needs to pause.

We have confused exposure with reality.

We see the announcement but not the years of preparation.

We see the graduation picture but not the nights of doubt.

We see the business launch but not the failed attempts.

We see the relationship but not the conversations behind closed doors.

We see the destination, but rarely the road.

Social media gives us access to people's highlights while we experience our own lives in full detail.

And that is an unfair comparison.

You know every mistake you've made.

Every opportunity you missed.

Every plan that didn't work.

Every insecurity.

Every financial struggle.

Every disappointing day.

But when you look at someone else, you usually see the version of their life they've chosen to show you.

Then you compare your behind-the-scenes to their highlight reel and wonder why you feel inadequate.

Maybe you're not failing.

Maybe you're simply growing at a different pace.

Maybe your journey requires things that theirs didn't.

Maybe what looks like a delay is actually preparation.

And maybe—just maybe—we need to stop asking,

“Why am I not where they are?”

and start asking,

“Am I becoming who I need to become?”

Because there is a difference between inspiration and comparison.

Inspiration says:

“If they can do it, maybe I can too.”

Comparison says:

“They have it, so something must be wrong with me.”

One pushes you forward.

The other slowly makes you resent your own journey.

And the saddest part?

Sometimes we don't even realize we're doing it.

We congratulate people while secretly wondering why their success hasn't happened to us yet.

We scroll through someone's good news and immediately turn it into bad news about ourselves.

We start rushing decisions because we are afraid of being left behind.

We choose careers because everybody is choosing them.

We enter relationships because everybody seems to be in one.

We chase money, beauty, followers, possessions and lifestyles—not necessarily because we want them, but because we have been taught to associate them with being successful.

And somewhere along the way, we stop living.

We start performing.

Performing success.

Performing happiness.

Performing adulthood.

Performing a life that looks good enough for other people to approve of.

But here's the question I really want us to sit with:

What if you finally got everything you've been comparing yourself to—and discovered that it wasn't what you actually wanted?

Think about that.

Because perhaps the greatest danger of comparison isn't simply that it makes us feel bad.

Perhaps it is that it can make us build lives that were never ours to begin with.

And if that's true...

Then maybe the real question isn't:

“How do I catch up with everybody?”

Maybe the real question is:

“Who am I becoming when nobody is watching?”

That conversation?

That's where Prestige Talk begins.

— Prestige Talk

Conversations our generation needs to have.

Prestige talk's is all about things that we face on a daily, relatable so we'd like you to support the journey financially
At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
Top Engagers
For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via
comments.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
