One conversation becomes ten.

Ten becomes everyday.

Everyday becomes a habit.

And somehow, their absence starts feeling louder than their presence ever did.

You meet someone, you start enjoying their presence, they become a part of your routine, you start looking forward to them, their behaviour starts affecting your mood, and then the realization dawns on you that you've gotten attached.

I've long realized that I get attached to people easily, but this one still crept up on me without me knowing.

We would stay outside under the beautiful sky and talk till dawn. Please do not judge me. 😔

In my defense, he knew things about me so easily. He made me laugh endlessly; he could make the littlest things funny. He talks smart, and whenever he's around, I don't zone out or use my phone. We don't run out of things to talk about. There was always something.

I found him “interesting.”

He was weird, and I liked it.

I reminisced over our moments together and looked forward to the next. Until things became different.

Gbam! I know 😭😂

Now, the conversations are shorter. The texts feel different. He wouldn't text if I didn't, which wasn't the case before. Yes, we're not in the same space anymore, but does that mean we can't be who we used to be when we were in the same space?

Why would you just disappear on me like that and act like nothing ever happened? Or was I the one reading meanings into everything that happened? 🥲

How did I even get myself into this? 🥲

Maybe that's the problem with getting attached. You don't always realize it's happening until the person starts pulling away and you suddenly notice how much space they've been occupying in your life.

I don't know if I was reading too much into things. Maybe I was. Maybe I wasn't. Maybe some things are just meant to be enjoyed while they last, and not every connection is meant to become something permanent.

I just wish I knew when I was getting attached. Maybe I would've taken a step back. Maybe I wouldn't have let myself get so comfortable.

But then again, I probably would've done it anyway. 😂

So here I am, learning my lesson the slightly harder way.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
Top Engagers
For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via

The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
