GIVE UP!!!!

Don't come for me o šŸ˜‚. Just hear me out first.

I have a friend who can be very stubborn when he wants something. And when I say stubborn, I mean the type that will keep trying even when everybody around him has started wondering if the thing is still worth it.

There was something he really wanted to make work. He had this idea in his head and he was convinced that if he just kept putting in the effort, eventually things would fall into place.

So he kept going, he tried talking to people it didn't work

He tried Whatsapp broadcast, still nothing.

He asked people for advice, made changes, spent money on it, spent time on it, and kept trying to figure out what exactly he was missing.

But the result was still the same. NOTHING oo

My guy got depressedĀ

And whenever someone suggested that maybe he should leave it for a while, he would be like, Leave it kehĀ

After everything I've already put into it this stuff it must work!!!

I understood him, though.

Because giving up on something you've spent so much time and energy on can feel like admitting that all those efforts were wasted.

So he kept going.....

At some point, I could tell he was getting tired

He wasn't even excited about it anymore

He was just trying because he had already convinced himself that stopping meant failure.

Then one day, he just stopped I was amazed

He didn't announce it to people buh I knewĀ

And instead of him to trying again immediately, he actually sat down and looked at what he had been doing.

What wasn't working?

What could he change?

And that's when he realized something.

He didn't necessarily need to give up on what he wanted.

He needed to give up on the way he was trying to get it.

So he restrategized.

New plan. New directionĀ

Different way of doing things.

Then he started again.

And boom.

Things finally started moving fast trust meĀ

That got me thinking and I decided to drop this insightĀ

Why do we act like giving up is always a bad thing?

Why does saying ā€œthis isn't working anymoreā€ automatically sound like failure?

Sometimes, you're not giving up because you're weak.

You're giving up because you've finally realized that you can't keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

And I think there's a difference between giving up on yourself and giving up on a method that isn't working.

You can still want the dream and decide that the road you're currently taking isn't getting you there.

You can pause.

You can rest.

You can change your mind.

You can go back and start again.

Omo, this one no dey work. Let's try another thing it is not bad naĀ

And that's not necessarily failure.

Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is admit that your current plan isn't working and have the humility to change it.

Because holding on just because you've already spent so much time there doesn't mean you're getting closer.

Sometimes you're only exhausting yourself.

So yes, give up sometimes.

Give up on that work

Give up on the plan that clearly isn't working.

Give up on forcing something simply because you're scared that starting again means you've failed.

But don't be too quick to give up on yourself.

Don't throw away the dream just because the first plan didn't work.

Take a step back.

THINKĀ Ā RE-STRATEGIZEĀ Ā THEN TRY AGAINĀ

Because maybe you don't need a new dream.

Maybe you just need a new strategy.......

Yes I am talking to you 🫵
