I CAN'T MOVE...PLEASE...HELP ME!

My eyes slowly fluttered open and I stared into utter darkness with slightly opened eyes, but when I tried to breathe...I just couldn't.

I didn't know how to.

I tried again, but still... I just couldn't.

It felt like there was an invisible force pressing on my lungs.

Panic set in immediately and my brain was on full work mode but my body just wouldn't budge.

I tried to speak. Tried to call for help, but my mouth felt too heavy to part.

I heard my door slide open and I watched my sister's silhouette --through the lighting from outside-- sneak in slowly to take the bag I had vehemently told her not to touch.

I should be angry. I would have been angry if only I could move my body.

I didn't give a shit about the bag or the fact that she didn't obey my instructions anymore. I just needed her to help me.

I felt...paralyzed.

No! Not again, please!

She watched me to see if I would move and when I didn't, she slowly began tiptoeing her way out.

In her head, I was probably just sleeping. But unbeknownst to her, I was close to becoming a ghost.

I was awake. I could see her. If only I could just...

I-I...I need help! Please! Somebody help me! Anna! Help me!

I screamed internally, hoping that by some miracle, my sister, who was almost at the door, would hear me.

At the end, she didn't. She sneaked back out and shut the door, leaving me all alone again.

I have never been more terrified in my life.

I am going to die. Is this really the end? God, please no!

I turned to my final solution. The only one I could talk to and He would hear.

    God.

I begged and begged, asking for help.

I tried my possible best as well, moving my body as much as I could. And after so many attempts to breathe and move, my body finally shot up as I gasped for air.

*You'd never really know how much you value your own life until in the face of something very close to death where

no one can come and save you*.

***

This was inspired by sleep paralysis. It's a terrifying experience, trust me.
