INTRODUCTION - by Odunlade Emmanuel

Hello everyone, My name is Odunlade Emmanuel. I live in Lagos, and I am currently schooling at Lagos State University. I am new here on TwoCents, and honestly, I did not plan to start my journey here this way. I came across TwoCents while searching for platforms where I could write, share my thoughts, and hopefully connect with people who enjoy reading and expressing themselves. During that search, I also came across platforms like Medium and Substack. I checked them out, liked what I saw, and told myself I would come back to TwoCents later. You know how these things go, you discover something interesting, get distracted by another thing, and suddenly the first thing is forgotten. But this morning, I remembered TwoCents and decided to give it a proper look. After completing my profile, I started going through some of the insights on the platform. The first one that really caught my attention was written by a writer named BigDee, titled “Things People Have Made Normal.” What caught me was not only the insight itself, but the interactions underneath it. People were actually talking to one another. There was disagreement, encouragement, different perspectives, little jokes, and genuine engagement. It did not feel like people were simply dropping their thoughts and leaving. It felt more like a community where people were interested in what others had to say. That was probably the moment TwoCents started making sense to me. Don't get me wrong, Substack is great, and I still appreciate what it offers. But there is something about TwoCents that feels different. It feels closer. Maybe it is the way people interact here, or maybe it is simply the feeling that your words can reach someone who is willing to stop, read, and respond. As someone who enjoys observing people, life, and the little things that usually go unnoticed, I think this might be a good place for me to put some of those thoughts into words. So, here I am. I am starting my journey on TwoCents with this little introduction, without knowing exactly where it will lead. Maybe I will write about life, school, people, experiences, random thoughts, or those strange moments when a simple situation makes you think deeper than you expected. I am not here with everything figured out. I just want to write, learn, meet people, read different perspectives, and see where this journey takes me. So, hello TwoCents. I guess this is where my journey begins.
