Mental Health and Politics (Part 2 - Punishment)

Punishment is a quick solve to crime, the idea to order, that represses in our unconscious and doesnt make us aware of the harm we do in our actions and community, not recognising or changing how we see the root causes of issues and certain behaviours and how we can solve it as individuals and a society, recognising the value of autonomy and accountability.

Punishment doesn't necessarily create something new, instead it doubles down on the existing power structures that are needed for it, for example take the need for the extreme punishment of the rapist which is already promoted to patriachy, as a way to continually hate men that protray certain patterns of masculinity, well patriarchal masculinity that are protrayed in extreme cases of violence and abuse resulting to the benevolent patriarch's existence that creates an exemption of the man in question, that believes he is isolated from this act of violence, not recognizing he benefits from the system he lives in that allows this violence to happen, despite his own inferiority complaint leading to the "not all men argument", which sadly produces a fallacy in a sociopolitical context through our psychophysical space, that is built in a world of domination by our manufactured consent, as we refuse to listen to inferiority complaints (especially of women in a kyriarchial sense), distributed through the individual experiences of our group subjectivities that create unknown excesses and gaps that is missed along the way of our lives by the cost of our understanding and solidarity, by the cost of our freedom and bodily autonomy.

I am not denying the proclivity of women hating the patriachy which can lead to the need of othering men in the first place what im pointing to is the sexist culture that it propagates built by bio-essentialist notions of the binary of gender which ultimately affects women more, and of course especially those that function in the culture consciously or unconsciously which breeding nihilism and misanthropy that isnt good for anyone involved.

We do not instead try pushing for rehabilitation, to have a sober assessment of why such a pathology exist in the first place through our categories of knowledge while recognising the interests of such knowledge but instead we throw the criminalized individual more to the power and digression of the state and hereby manufacturing its existence thereof , to the benefit of the ruling class and elite which the patriarchy also benefits from, as its to represses evermore our recognition that sexism and male domination are baked into the system our society operates on.

What does that say about us ?
