One More Squeeze

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve picked up a tube of toothpaste, convinced there was nothing left.

Still, almost out of habit, I’d give it one more squeeze.

And somehow, there was always enough for one more brush.

Maybe life is like that too.

Earlier today, I sat down to prepare my budget for the month. I went over the figures again and again, hoping I’d find something I could remove. Something unnecessary. Something I could live without.

I found none.

Every line was a responsibility.

I stared at the numbers for a while, hoping they would somehow make more sense the second or third time around.

They didn’t.

A tear slipped down my face

Alright... maybe more than one.

Not because I couldn’t do the maths, but because I couldn’t understand how so many necessary things had become too much for one income to carry.

I found myself asking:

Why is this so hard?

Will it always be like this?

Then something shifted.

I realized I had been squeezing the wrong thing.

I had spent all my energy trying to reduce my expenses, hoping that if I trimmed enough, everything would finally fit.

But what if the answer wasn’t another cut?

What if the answer was another stream?

I stopped looking for another expense to remove and started looking for another way to earn.

The numbers on my budget didn’t change.

But my perspective did.

The problem hadn’t disappeared, but the heaviness had.

Hope quietly found its way back into the room.

Maybe that’s what one more squeeze really means.

Before you convince yourself, there’s nothing left, pause for a moment.

Perhaps it’s your creativity.

Your courage.

Your willingness to begin again.

Sometimes, you don’t need a better answer.

You just need to try a different path.

So, the next time you pick up a tube of toothpaste and think it’s empty, don’t be too quick to throw it away.

There might still be something left.

Sometimes...

All it takes is one more squeeze.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
