THE DAY YOU STOP CALLING

We had known each other for a very long time.

I knew you very well, and you knew me just as well.

We talked every single day, almost every second.

You called me, you texted me, and you never made excuses for missing my calls.

You were always there for me.

But suddenly, you changed.

At first, you reduced the number of times you texted me, called me, and asked about me.

I noticed the changes, but I kept making excuses for you.

I told myself that maybe you were busy or that something else was keeping you away.

But suddenly, you stopped talking to me altogether.

The day you stopped talking, the day you stopped calling, I felt terrible.

I couldn't understand what had happened or why everything had changed so suddenly

That's why they say not all friendships or relationships last forever.

You can never tell what will happen next.

When you try to build a bond with someone, many things happen before that bond becomes strong.

You go through different situations together, face challenges, share memories, and learn to trust each other.

But without genuine care, understanding, and effort from both sides, that bond may not last.

The day you stopped calling, I felt terrible.

But I didn't know what to do. I didn't know how to start all over again because I had become so attached to you.

I didn't know where to begin.

I was struggling to understand how someone who had once been such a big part of my life could suddenly become someone I barely heard from.

It was painful, and for a while, I didn't know how to deal with it.

But through that experience,

I learned a lesson: not all relationships or friendships last forever because you can never tell what will happen next.

And I finally understood something.

Sometimes, you don't realise how much space a person occupies in your life until their silence begins to fill it.

The day you stop calling might not be the day I stop caring.

It might simply be the day I learn to live without expecting to hear from you.

And if you ever wonder why I became so quiet, remember that silence doesn't always mean nothing happened.

Sometimes, it means someone has finally stopped waiting for what may never come.

Perhaps that's why we must learn to be comfortable with our own company.

People may come into our lives and leave unexpectedly, but we must learn how to keep moving forward, even when their absence hurts.

Because sometimes, the hardest lesson is learning to live without the people you once thought would always be there.
