THE NEW OLD NATIONAL ANTHEM 😂🇳🇬
<p>One Monday morning, during the school assembly, the principal announced that Nigeria had returned to the old national anthem.</p><p><br/></p><p>He proudly instructed the students to prepare for the national anthem the following morning.</p><p><br/></p><p>The next day, everyone stood at attention.</p><p><br/></p><p>The music started.</p><p><br/></p><p>Principal: "Arise, O compatriots..."</p><p><br/></p><p>The students stared at one another.</p><p><br/></p><p>One boy whispered, "Oga, na which version be this? I thought we don return to the old one!"</p><p><br/></p><p>The principal shouted, "Sing! This is the old national anthem!"</p><p><br/></p><p>A student confidently replied, "Sir, we only sabi the old new one. This one is new old!"</p><p><br/></p><p>The principal nearly swallowed his whistle.</p><p><br/></p><p>Another student raised his hand.</p><p><br/></p><p>"Sir, please, can we have a transition period? Some of us are still downloading the old anthem from our memory!"</p><p><br/></p><p>Even the teachers were confused. One teacher was singing Arise, O compatriots, while another was already halfway into Nigeria, we hail thee.</p><p><br/></p><p>The security man, who had been standing quietly at the gate, finally spoke:</p><p><br/></p><p>"Una better settle this matter. Since una change the anthem, my salary never change. Na only the song dey rotate!"</p><p><br/></p><p>Everybody burst into laughter.</p><p><br/></p><p>By the time the assembly ended, the principal made one final announcement:</p><p><br/></p><p>"From tomorrow, anybody who doesn't know the national anthem will face punishment!"</p><p><br/></p><p>One student immediately asked:</p><p><br/></p><p>"Sir, which anthem should we learn first, the old one, the new one, or the old new one?"</p><p><br/></p><p>The principal quietly walked back into his office.</p><p><br/></p>
