Today, I met one of my old classmates, Ayokunle, and we were sharing some of our secondary school memories together. 😄

How time flew! 🤔

While talking, we remembered one of our principals and suddenly, I flashed back to something he told us years ago.

FLASHBACK…

He was our principal, and after our long morning assembly, he would usually get the opportunity to address the whole school.

That beautiful day, I remember him walking to the assembly ground and drawing a pyramid, dividing it into three sections.

He told us, “Everyone on this earth will either remain at the bottom, reach the middle, or make it to the peak.”

At the bottom, everyone starts. You struggle, learn, work, and gradually move forward.

Then some people reach the middle. They achieve a few things and become comfortable. They begin to think, “This is enough. I've made it.”

But there are those who keep climbing.

They keep learning. They keep working. They remain consistent until they reach the peak.

Then he said something that stayed with me:

“The peak of the pyramid is very thin. Only a few people get there.”

And finally, he ended with a statement that confused me for years:

“THE WAY UP IS DOWN.”

I didn't understand it immediately.

But now I do.

We sometimes think we'll wake up one morning and suddenly find a helper who will carry us straight to the top. But that's rarely how life works.

You have to start from somewhere.

You start small. You learn. You make mistakes. You get rejected. You try again. You build experience. You become better.

Even people we look up to didn't simply wake up at the top. They walked their way there, one step at a time.

The “down” is the foundation.

And sometimes, the higher you want to go, the more willing you must be to start from the ground.

So whenever you feel like you're starting too small, remember:

THE WAY UP IS DOWN.

Start where you are. Build from there. Keep climbing. 🔥

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
