To the God My Soul Loves
<p><br/></p><p>Dear Father,</p><p><br/></p><p>Before I knew Your name, You knew my every breath,</p><p>You called me from the chaos, You carried me through death.</p><p>Your mercy met my mourning; Your love outlived my fear,</p><p>And in the silent seasons, I discovered You were near.</p><p><br/></p><p>When storms begin to thunder and my trembling faith grows thin,</p><p>Your whisper breaks the darkness: “My child, let peace begin.”</p><p>You gather all my fragments, You heal what I conceal,</p><p>Your grace is not a theory, it is the touch that makes me whole.</p><p><br/></p><p>At Calvary You carried the cross I could not bear,</p><p>You wore my shame and sorrow; You met me suffering there.</p><p>The nails declared Your mercy; the empty tomb declared,</p><p>That sin could lose its sentence and death could be defeated.</p><p><br/></p><p>When words become too weary and prayers become too small,</p><p>You intercede within me when I cannot speak at all.</p><p>You breathe upon my ashes; You make my spirit burn,</p><p>And teach my restless heart toward righteousness to turn.</p><p><br/></p><p>And when my journey ends,</p><p>When earthly eyes grow dim and eternity draws near,</p><p>Let heaven be my home, and let Your presence be my cheer.</p><p>I have loved many blessings, but none compares to You.</p><p>My beginning, my Redeemer, my ending, and my Truth.</p><p><br/></p><p>If heaven has one heartbeat, let mine beat there with Thee;</p><p>For You did not simply give me life—</p><p>You gave Yourself to me.</p>
