WE FELT RIGHT, UNTIL WE WEREN'T“A love meant for you will never break you “ You know that feeling when you think you’ve found your person or your people,but it turns out it was never meant to last?Yes, at some point in our lives, we’ve all been there.That point where you think you’ve found that one person who will never leave, but they do.That one person who makes you feel seen. Where vulnerability isn’t an issue.Where accountability isn’t a struggle,at least not at the beginning of your closeness. Slowly, you start adding them into your schedule. You just want to keep talking to them, without stopping.The kind of person you should pray, “If they are not the one, take them away,”but instead, the only prayer you whisper is,“Let this person align with Your will for my life.”With them, you felt peace.It felt like the world itself was in support of your innocent union.You could climb every mountain and swim every ocean just to make them happy. You felt content. One night, you told yourself, this is the person I have been praying for,or so you thought? You whispered, “Thank You, Jesus, for bringing us close,” while Heaven simply smiled at your little innocence and ignorance, knowing what was to come. Whenever you prayed, you didn’t ask you just gave thanks. Because they fit into everything you had described to God. Someone you loved praying with. Someone who seemed to understand you. With them, the atmosphere was never tense. You felt excitement running through your veins, ready to burst out. Butterflies filled your stomach, making you feel light, like you could fly. With them, time didn’t exist. Time stood still. You thought you had found someone who would always listen. But somewhere along the line, something changed. You could feel it. You both tried to figure it out. You both tried to understand the sudden shift. But slowly, you got tired of trying. Protecting each other turned into subtle disrespect. Little banter turned into cruel jokes, hidden under the disguise of harmless humor. Conversations became burdens. The butterflies you once felt turned into something uncomfortable—like emptiness you couldn’t explain. And slowly, you started asking God, Why did You allow this? Why did You allow this person to hurt me? But deep down, you were reminded they weren’t wicked. They were trying, in their own way. But you were too in love to see the cracks forming. Then their efforts started to feel performative.They tried, and then stopped trying.Someone you once called your peace became your agony.Someone you once called your world ,your Heaven,became your abyss. You started saying, “I should have walked away.”“I should have prayed that prayer.”They seemed so perfect… but maybe they were never meant for you. You began to wonder, all the love I gave what was it for? Someone you once added into your daily life became just a shadow. Someone you built your world around became an afterthought. Someone you once prayed with every night became someone you couldn’t even pray with anymore.Someone you couldn’t stop talking to, became someone you couldn’t even text, because you were both avoiding the real conversations.And the question kept ringing in your head: What truly went wrong? Was I too much? Were my expectations too high? Then the tears came. You didn’t care about your gender or how it looked, you were just hurt. Silent sobs. A heavy, constricted heart. You wore denial like a shield until it broke, and you broke with it. The pain still stung, because you really believed you had found the right person. You gave your all. You never imagined going your separate ways. But then, slowly, you began to accept it. Maybe things really do happen for a reason. And so, you made a decision, a quiet one. You were going to choose yourself. You were going to prioritize your healing this year 🤍
