<p><br/></p><p>Before motherhood, I'd always been a writer.</p><p><br/></p><p>Before I even met my husband, I already was a writer.</p><p><br/></p><p>After I got married, I paused writing for a while.</p><p><br/></p><p>My husband did encourage me to keep writing, but I just couldn't.</p><p><br/></p><p>I can't even explain it.</p><p><br/></p><p>I just stopped.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then motherhood came and it felt almost like I'd forgotten completely about the existence of pens at first.</p><p><br/></p><p>At least that's how it seemed to me at the time.</p><p><br/></p><p>What I didn't know was that this new life of mine was giving me a new plot.</p><p><br/></p><p>A new story to write about.</p><p><br/></p><p>Motherhood put new words on my tongue.</p><p><br/></p><p>I didn't even realise when I started writing again.</p><p><br/></p><p>I just did it.</p><p><br/></p><p>And somehow, I realised I wasn't only writing about motherhood.</p><p><br/></p><p>I was writing about life.</p><p><br/></p><p>About marriage.</p><p><br/></p><p>About clothes.</p><p><br/></p><p>About people.</p><p><br/></p><p>About the things I notice.</p><p><br/></p><p>About the things I don't understand.</p><p><br/></p><p>About the things that make me laugh.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sometimes it's serious.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sometimes it's poetic.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sometimes it's just me talking nonsense on the internet. 😂</p><p><br/></p><p>And I think that's the beautiful thing about writing.</p><p><br/></p><p>You don't always know what kind of writer you're becoming until you look back and realise you've already become one.</p><p><br/></p><p>So let me know, people of TwoCents...</p><p>Do you want Jemima the poetic, or Jemima the writing mom?</p><p>Or would you like to have the best of both? 😂</p>
